The Last Ten Years

by Ryan Hutchens

The Last Ten Years is second full album released by Ryan Hutchens under his real name.  It was officially released on October 13, 2017.  The Last Ten Years was recorded over the course of six days in May and June by Kenny McWilliams at Archer Avenue Studio in Columbia South Carolina.  It was mastered on June 26 by Dave Harris at Studio B Mastering in Charlotte North Carolina.

The Last Ten Years consists of songs Ryan developed over the course of several years beginning in 2014.  Several of the tracks (Education, Fortunate Peace, and Fake Flowers And The Weather) had been previously released on earlier albums under the name Cancellieri.  These songs were re-recorded for The Last Ten Years with changes in composition, lyrics, and instrumentation.  The Last Ten Years consists mostly of traditional Americana instrumentation including acoustic six string guitar, five string banjo, cello, pedal steel guitar, electric bass guitar, and light percussion.  Ryan Hutchens composed all of the songs and performed most of the instrumentation on the album.  The Last Ten Years was produced by Kenny McWilliams, Kelly Corl, and Stancy Stribling.  Kenny McWilliams also performed synthesized piano, percussion, electric guitar, and electric bass guitar on several of the tracks.  Idris Chandler performed all of the cello tracks.  Travis Wright performed all of the pedal steel tracks.
